Project Synopsis & Overview

The proposed project, “A Depression Assistant Chatbot using in Artificial Intelligence,” is an AI-powered mental health support chatbot called Sathvik Bot, developed to provide users with real-time emotional support and mental health guidance through natural and empathetic conversations. The system addresses the difficulty faced by individuals in expressing emotional concerns and accessing immediate mental health support due to factors such as stigma, cost, or limited accessibility. The main objective is to provide a private, accessible, non-judgmental environment where users can express their feelings and receive supportive responses. The system is developed using Python, Flask, and web technologies and applies basic Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including keyword extraction and pattern recognition, to analyze user messages. The major modules include User Interaction, Greeting & Initialization, Query Analysis, Symptom Suggestion & Clarification, Symptom Mapping & Identification, and Response & Conclusion. The workflow processes user input, identifies relevant emotional or mental health concerns, suggests possible symptoms, maps clarified symptoms to predefined conditions or emotional states, and generates supportive responses or guidance. The expected output is an interactive chatbot capable of providing initial emotional support and encouraging professional assistance when required. The system can be applied as an accessible first step for mental health support, awareness, and real-time emotional assistance.
